Student Technicians...........An Untapped Resource

A number of people have stodpped to talk to me after my presentation and there are a few additional points I would like to share. First, since we are such a small school district and I am the only technoogy staff, I can only "employ" the students for one period during the school day. We have to coordinate that period so the students are available for the class. However, in a larger district, students could have the class as an "independent study" during periods when they are individually available, thus creating day-long assistance. Of course, that is all dependent upon available supervision.

Also, something I failed to mention in the session is that I am developing a pre/post test for the course. This test will cover everything from technical skills to ethics to etiquette. The two tests should be an indicator of a student's progress through the course.
