2010 Conference Comments
How was your conference this year? Was there a topic you were hoping to attend that wasn't on the program? How did you enjoy the Keynotes? Do you have other ideas that would help in planning for next year? While you will be receiving an electronic evaluation via email, I thought it might be helpful to use this thread for any general conference comments you wish to share publicly with conference organizers.

This was my first time attending PETE & C and I was really blown away! There were so many wonderful sessions to attend that it was really tough deciding on what to go to! The opening keynote by Sir Ken Robinson was outstanding! Many thanks to the conference organizers for a wonderful experience...I am already looking forward to it next year!

If you haven't read Sir Ken's book The Element yet, do yourself a favor and read it.
The Ning is fantastic and well organized. It's an invaluable resource.
Thanks for all the hard work. I'm looking forward to 2011.

For tabs along the top of the ning, it would really help if they put "Sessions" so both attendees and presenters would go to one place. Some presenters didn't have anything up, maybe a ning mentor or helpmeet or some one to show them/do it for them. Some present well but won't touch the tech.
Get rid of those paper waster eval sheets. Put all evals for all sessions on the ning hyperlinking to a polldaddy or surveymonkey or something. I filled out zero evals for all PETE-C's I have been to (even for that nazi volunteer one year). I have a feeling more evals would pour in if you gave people a choice, leaving a pile at the back AND providing the poll. Maybe have a banner blinking or scrolling along the top asking, "Did you evaluate your sessions?" until after PETE-C.
How about a session Sunday evening and Monday morning on getting the most out of PETE-C2011 using Ning ? Maybe include the Twitter hashtags in that. And the chat below on this Ning which only a few of us actually used. Somehow the use of this Ning needs to increase with the 2700 attendees.
We all know we want more bandwidth. This was the best one so far, truthfully. Could the presenters ALL be hard-wired in to a separate server ?
I'll add more probably....it's breakfast time.

Not sure if the conference is using the hotel's wireless next year, but Xirrus would be a great solution to more bandwidth. We develop Wi-Fi Arrays which have 8x the bandwidth than traditional access points, supporting many more users and schools all over PA are using for 1:1 laptop needs and capacity in their schools. We also are Wi-Fi providers at many conferences, and would be glad to help out the PETE&C team next year to give the attendees an enjoyable wireless experience. www.xirrus.com
